You may have your own board but you need to consider if it is really worth bringing your own board. Firstly there’s the hassle of having to pack you board, take the fins out (which can be a mission if you have Futures Fins), get it to the airport, have to use the oversize luggage, then worry about it being by the airline staff or ground crew. Then there’s the hassle of waiting for it upon arrival, having to put the fins back in, etc.

Not to mention that 1 board with a surf bag is 8-10kgs. Throw in another board (because most os us travel with 2 boards to cover all bases and the event of mishaps and you’re looking at 13-16kgs of your luggage allowance being consumed by surfboards.
